“How often should I post on social media?”: Our January QOTM!

We thought it would be a solid idea to include answers to a “question of the month” in our revamped monthly newsletter that’s just hit your inbox (and if it didn’t, sign up here!). So here we are - this question has been a big one this month. From clients just starting services with us, to attendees at Kelsy’s recent workshop with Pandion Music Foundation, to fellow WIM Summit participants who have social media as their New Year’s Resolution for 2025. The question is:

How often should I post on social media?!

Tori says:

“There’s no magic number, but aiming for at least 10 high-quality posts per month can significantly boost your chances of generating meaningful engagement and growing your platforms organically.

Pro tip: Avoid posting the same content at the same time across all platforms. Instead, stagger your posts to ensure they reach diverse audiences and keep your content fresh.

The key to social media success lies in a combination of strategy and consistency.”

Kelsy says:

“There’s not really a specific answer to this question - the most important thing to have in mind is consistency! So you may post once a week, every day, or twice a month. Regardless, always be consistent. The second priority should be to keep your content varied. There are lots of ways to think about this, but one I’ve been hearing about a lot lately is the funnel strategy. At the top of your funnel is content that is broadly interesting and/or relatable (still brand-aligned though ;)), such as walking your dog or a funny workplace situation. The middle of your funnel is content that pulls people into your music, such as lyric videos or performance videos. The bottom of your funnel is content that turns followers into fans, such as behind the scenes, lyric deep dives, and more personal content about the music + you.”
